Just got back from seeing the Hunger Games.

365 Movie Challenge | 73 | The Hunger Games

Surprisingly good, although they did miss out a LOT of important scenes from the book. But like Harry Potter that is to be expected, movies are rarely equivalent to novels. Also another thing I found distracting apart from all the closeups on Lawrence’s scarily chubby fingers was the lack of violence. I understand it was to cut the rating to a 12A but honestly I think it just ruined all the rawness and urgency the plot requires to entertain. The camera would shake far too much on a fighting scene I mean I understand you don’t want to show too much blood and stuff but a static two shot of two guys punching each other isn’t going to make it a 15 rating! And the lack of blood! I would understand this, if you didn’t have Cato spitting it out in the final scenes. And that was another scene, why did you have him be remoseful? Again was it for the certificate? ITS NOT WHAT HAPPENS HE IS A CAREER HE WAS RAISED TO DO THAT HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT REMORSE IS! Far too much of Katniss alone and not enough of the actual action. Also why was Cato with Glimmer instead of Clove?! IN THE BOOK MY SHIP IS CATO AND CLOVE WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME WITH STUPID GLIMMER ARGHHH! I think they could have done with making the film longer and a higher certificate. It would be even better as a TV show and then they’d be able to include it ALL.

I kissed Peeta about a thousand times during those Games and after. But there was only one kiss that made me feel something stir deep inside. Only one that made me want more. But my head wound started bleeding and he made me lie down.
This time, there is nothing but us to interrupt us. And after a few attempts, Peeta gives up on talking.
