365 Movie Challenge | 110 | In Hell

This film is so badass. I mean there are some innacuracies when it comes to the russian prison system but I guess it can be overlooked because the whole point is that the prison is corrupt. The fight sequences were good and realistic unlike so many Hollywood movies and the storyline was good and unpredictable. The only thing that annoyed me was that they kept calling Van Damme’s character ’the american’ and saying ‘this isn’t america’… the guy was French, his accent was french, his name was french…. so even if he was legally an american citizen they would have referred to his nationality as French BECAUSE HE’S FUCKING FRENCH.

365 Movie Challenge | 95 | Judas Kiss

This film is weird, not sure if in a good way or not yet. I mean whoever the casting director was needed glasses trying to protray the hot guys as the ugly guys and the ugly guys as the hot ones. I mean who in their right mind would choose that blonde guy over CW? I mean its Brent freakin’ Corrigan!! LIKE THE FUCKING A OF PORN STARS WHO PEOPLE HAVE LITERALLY MURDERED FOR. LIKE WTF AND DAVID? A 7? WHAT? AND THAT OTHER GUY WAS SO NOT A 9 HE WAS LIKE A 5 AND THATS BEING GENEROUS!

365 Movie Challenge | 94 | Third Star

I don’t think I have cried so much since watching Bridge of Terabithia two years ago. Fucking heartbreaking. Brilliant performance and cinematography, ALL THE FEELS. And I particularly enjoyed Mr Crawley from Downton Abbey’s cameo in denim hot-pants.

Not only is Danny Boyle a fucking genius, but this had Rumplestiltskin in it, and he said ‘once upon a time’ and spoke about ‘wonderland’ which made me laugh. 

365 Movie Challenge | 90 | Arena

It was okay, I mean the acting wasn’t brilliant on Lutz’s part, especially with the whole Dobrev relationship… no chemistry. He had more with the kidnapper. I suppose this was a bit like a modern Gladiator. But not as good. Although I give them credit for the twist ending, although how plausible it is… meh. 

365 Movie Challenge | 90 | Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant

It was quite good, a bit pantominish at points with the acting (especially when Josh Hutcherson turned evil, I mean he pulled off the rebellious teen part but the vampaneze or whatever, a tad unrealistic) but I think its aimed at a fairly young audience, its obviously based on a book and you could tell that it was hoping to gain a sequel due to the unresolved ending which seeing as there will be no forseeable future is going to bug me as I hate not having a conclusion.  Also their bromance… bit eh Destielish. 

365 Movie Challenge | 89 | The Loved Ones

This film is really fucked up… which is probably why I like it. Ah, Australians. I always think the more fucked up a film is the more unique it is and the more suspense it holds as you never know what is going to happen. The only fault I would give the movie is the enigmatic ending, I wanted some further closure, like did the dog die? Was the boy brain damaged? Did they ever find the other boy? 

365 Movie Challenge | 88 | Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure

I was expecting this to be quite a lame stoner movie but actually it was pretty damn awesome. I fucking love 80’s movies. And dayum since when was Keanu Reeves cute? I wish guys wearing crop tops would come back in fashion. This film is bloody hilarious.

It was actually really good. Enigmatic with the whole mystery surrounding who is the wolf. Although I don’t understand how Peter managed to move around so much after he got stabbed. 

365 Movie Challenge | 85 | StreetDance

I must have been like one of the few who watched this because of the ballet rather than the street dance. I personally just watched it because of Richard Winsor, that man is a GOD. GOD OF THE DANCE. I couldn’t stand the street dancers, the whole trying to be gangster attitudes and laughing at the ballet dancers even though the ballet dancers were better dancers overall, I don’t see how they were meant to be likeable. The plot was a little predictable and tedious but then again I suppose you watch it for the dancing… not the storyline. 

365 Movie Challenge | 84 | Wishful Thinking

I liked the multiple narratives and the film was split into three parts so we only got one person’s story at a time and had to piece it together but I thought that because when Max narrative was much better than the girls as he used visual aids with the old movies to narrate his thoughts.

365 Movie Challenge | 83 | 30 Days Of Night

Seeing as I only watched this for Manu Bennett I was a little disappointed by his lack of screen time (not that I’m complaining about Josh Hartnett’s face) and how he ended up looking like Billy Oddie in his Goodies prime. But I have to say, that was a Crixus-worthy death bro. 

365 Movie Challenge | 82 | Iron Man 2

I mean robot movies tend to be a little passive, shooting at stuff and being covered in a shield? wheres the excitement in that? I mean a good fight is hand on hand combat, if you’re gonna kill someone don’t be a pussy about it and hide in a suit. RDJ’s witty comments did make the film more enjoyable, and all the little things hinting to the upcoming Avengers movie was clever.
